The arrowheads i am selling through these auctions are part of ym fathers collection which he has collected for about 60 years or more. He is 85 years old and has been collecting since he was very young. I have no idea how to describe them so i am just putting them on by number and hoping collectors will know what they are. My father is davdi mack crutcher of madison county (huntsville) alabama. He hsa alzheimers and cannot tell me anything about his beloved collection of arrowheads. There are thousands fo them and we are having to start selling them to take care of his medical bills. He has been living with alzheimers for almost 10 years now and the mnoey is running out. We have waited until we are almost brkoe to sell his arrowhead and knife collection.
The time has come that he needs health care and medication moer than the arrowheads. I am his daughter and ma starting them on my own auctions. Since i have no idea of the value i am starting with the ones i see to be perfect- no chips or breaks in them- i am doing only the ones he had in boxes marked good or fine. He has laso 4 large gallery framed collections that i will get to later. From his little book of notes i see that most of them are found in north alabama and southern tennessee- most often name quoted is coldwater tn and madison and limestone alabama. I have seen in a place or two the word archaic. I also need to add to this description of places found- pulaski tn- taft- in alabama elk river- gurly and indian creek and scottsboro.
I am also starting all auctions at $4.99- and trusting collectors to know the value. I have scanned each one at 300 dpi so you can see what you are bidding on and color is better shown with a scan than a photograph.
# 22 in size is 3 long by 1 1/2 w by 1 thick wide and it is another beauty. The closest thing i can find to identify it si that it is a drilled bannerstone. You can look and maybe tell for yourself what kind of tool it is. But it is in almost perfect condition and is slick to the touch. Shipping $2.00 or i will combine shipping for more than one. Mailed in a clear plastic holder and padedd envelope. If yuo prefer priority shipping will be 4.99- insurance optional and according to selling price.
